Brown Plant Hopper infestation to organic rice... Wereng Batang Coklat serang padi organik
be careful, when:
Brown Plant Hopper infestation to organic rice... Do nothing, (with common sense) Wait for the last seeds finding resistant one
Wait the last Galuh (Tuesday, 03/08/2011)
Plot of the local varieties of paddy crops on mixed farms organic Galuh mini scale created by volunteers Biotani & Bahari Indonesia in Mingas Baru Klaten in Central Jawa not escape from a pest, Brown plant hopper (BPH). Grains remaining - a few dozen stem - will be tested in the next planting season - whether to resistance to BPH. In another side, high yielded varieties of paddy fields around (in between Chinese cemetery and dumped household garbage site) it had been attacked by these pests in early February 2011, even a lot of pests that enter into people's homes in the surrounding ... as experienced by residents of Bekasi Barat in West Jawa in August 2010; BPH attack quickly spread to several areas of rice production between January and April 2010 reached 3.18 million hectares; total land area of 12.02 million hectares of paddy crop in 2009, see: Tjahjadi (2010) Corporate Take Over the Seed. Booming Hybrid Rice for food safety? A paper prepared for the Institute of Global Justice. Jakarta, 19 September 2010.
Another fragrant rice variety, Cempo Wangi 2 months old (yet flowering stage) seems survived - plot of Galuh rice variety behind it.
Red & White variety, Polaman both are local 1.5 months old, in another mini mixed gardening; also survived. It’s around 300 meters in the north of conventional farm.

Booming Hybrid Rice For Food security? Makalah dipersiapkan untuk Institute Global Justice. Jakarta, 19 September 2010.
